take out water ice saucepan, just loosen the top ii screws, remove the lesser screw, slide ice maker up & out, srewdriver to release wiring harness clip, reverse to put back in. was very simple. did not install water inlet kit nevertheless. h2o under fridge stopped after i changed the water ice maker. Shut down refrigerator at the breaker. Placed freezer items in a cooler. Removed top shelf. You must release roller covers on each side to remove the shelf ( 2 front end screws must be removed) Took off freezer door. I noticed the coating inside the ice maker, the lining on the surface that the water contacts when making ice, was chipping off. I replaced the ice maker with a new unit of measurement and now in that location'due south no more than bits of stuff in my ice. Icemaker producing few or no cubes and often leaving "kling-ons" on ice tray

Interior surface of ice tray felt rough & flaky (coating deteriorated) and then cubes would non release.
Unplug appliance.
Remove timer cover by hand pressure @ edge.
Remove unmarried attachment screw & bracket at lower front of icemaker.
Disconnect wiring harness from socket @ rear of compartment.
Catchy part was determining what type of connectedness held the other two zipper points along the long edge of the icemaker. I did not have repair transmission or useful cartoon but looked @ PartsDirect picture of side brackets & used a small mirror to confirm that mine were as well some sort of "snap in" zipper.
Remove icemaker unit past pushing upwards and outward on the unit. I takes a good bit of pressure level and will pop loose, but be conscientious not to suspension attachment bracket from freezer wall.
Scavenge close off bar and wiring harness from erstwhile icemaker once you lot have it out & attach to new one before installing information technology dorsum in freezer.
Once more, you lot might find a mirror useful to align those pesky snap-in brackets with the new unit of measurement.
Since you probably kept your freezer running while waiting for the part, the plastic snap-ins will exist cold and brittle. I warmed them up first by applying a dampened fabric heated in the microwave to brand them a little more pliable.
A proficient push of the new unit towards the snap-ins along with some upward strength will get it stable.

Stopped making ice, confirmed water ice in trough, not ejecting water ice or cycling

Please notation I had to remove the complete one-time wire harness from and install the new proper one as my function number was replaced with a new part number. The new ice maker repair kit comes with ii new harnesses each slightly different i for a 22 cubic pes model the other for the 25cf model. It looks intimidating initially, just take pictures Showtime BEFORE removing former harness to see all the connections. I was surprised this was necessary but it is, as the 'H" pivot on the front of the new ice maker motor was unlike from my old i. Would have only taken me 15 minutes or so to replace the erstwhile ice maker simply with having to remove the old harness and re-route the new harness it will take yous a bit of time and patience merely you can do information technology. Another note you lot will have to remove the Electromagnet to go to the green grounding screw on the ice maker itself. There are good videos on Part Select and youtube showing how to remove the ice maker itself, simply did not find one on the wire harness, like I said merely accept lots of expert pictures showing all the connectedness points on the old harness and take your fourth dimension. Wanted to install ice maker in my freezer

I was clening my uprght freezer and noticed that it was preped for an icemaker. I outset went to the Whilpool website and could not find my role as my freezer was a 2008 model.

I saw PartSelect on the search page and went to thier site.
I put in my modle number of the Whilpool Ice maker kit that was on the back of my freezer. PartSelect had the role in stock and approx $18.00 less than the other kits listed on the Whilpool site (that did not match my kit number). I orderd the kit on Dominicus and it arrived on Midweek. It took less than and hour to install. Every part I needed was included. The following twenty-four hour period I installed the water line and now I accept an extra icemaker.
